Kristin and Willie came to me with elements of their day planned and their main vendors selected, but wanted my help to bring their elegant and glam vision of their Norwegian + Ghanian wedding to fruition and to help them create a seamless wedding experience for themselves and their guests.
As a sidenote, I often have multicultural couples/families say - we want our wedding to be elegant, we don’t want all the colors, so let’s just go with neutrals. Otherwise it will be so tacky.
To me, this wedding served as a perfect example - one example - to keep “all the colors” and still create an elegant event. They wanted to make sure their colorful reception fits stood out, so we kept a minimal palette of deep green, black, white, and gold - which really served as a perfect backdrop. The Ghanian textile patterns were additionally incorporated into the invitation suite by Paper Rock Scissor
There are so many ways to incorporate bold colors and create elegant day!

When you have a dedicated planner it is so much easier to plan in plenty of time to take it all in and enjoy your day with your favorite people - whether that means champagne toasts and conversation or just enjoying a great game!
This was one of the most intensive weddings to set up AND flip, why?, because of the insane amount of candle vases! Guess how many we used?

Kristin & Willie’s ceremony was uncomplicated, but they really wanted to make everyone’s jaw drop with the decor. We had a fabulous team to accomplish this!

Reception
Cocktail hour was quick and a good time for Kristin & Willie to sign the official docs, hang with their friends, and then get changed for the reception.
For the reception we had a big team to reuse just some of the 550 candles from the aisle for centerpieces! All the candles & lights reflected off the enormous windows in the space and had the whole place aglow. With luxe velvets, a dance floor, a lounge, and some game tables - the reception was ready for a ton of FUN!
